Who We Are

Welcome to the Laboratory for Advanced Materials & Applications (LAMA)! We are a research group in Material Science and Engineering (MSE) Department at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST.) Research in our lab is centered on understanding the properties of materials and applying this fundamental understanding to develop improved materials and devices for a wide range of applications in energy harvesting and generation, electronics, displays, lighting, and sensors. We are also interested in innovative manufacturing technologies for large-area nano-electronics where the device, and ultimately system-level performance, is determined by the device's physical dimensions rather than strictly by the active material(s) employed.

A new paper just published in Advanced Functional Materials by Dounya Barrit et al.

Our paper titled "Room‐Temperature Partial Conversion of α‐FAPbI3 Perovskite Phase via PbI2 Solvation Enables High‐Performance Solar Cells" has recently been published in Advanced Functional Materials.

This work provides new design rules toward the room‐temperature phase transformation and processing of hybrid perovskite films based on FA+ cation without the need for Cs+ or mixed halide formulation.
